CSN Stores Review

CSN Stores
It's no secret around our home that I like Flirty Aprons. In fact, I've found the best place to get them. CSN Stores carries Flirty Aprons for $30-$35 for the women's aprons, compared to $45+ other places.

B has been begging me to get her a Flirty Apron... preferably in time for her 11th birthday. Then I got a email from CSN Stores asking if we would be interested in working with them again. We agreed. J helped to pick out the Very Cherry apron for B and we placed an order. The package arrived about five days later. B was thrilled to open her Flirty Apron on her birthday morning and I love that she isn't borrowing mine any more!

Even Momma has one! She doesn't often enter giveaways, but after I won my Flirty Apron, she mentioned that she wanted one in Sassy Black and searched for Flirty Apron giveaways. I won another apron from Mom's Best Bets and kept it a surprise till Christmas. Since then, my other two sisters have said they'd like a Flirty Apron as well.

I love the Frosted Cupcake apron... and four other colors as well. I've found that the Flirty Aprons are very well made and keep my shirts clean. They also add a great feminine touch to a outfit.

Flirty Aprons - Women's Apron in Frosted CupcakeCSN Stores also carries aprons for men, little girls, and more aprons for women. After all, who doesn't need more aprons! Not to mention, they ship very quickly. If you aren't interested in aprons, check out the swingsets, cloth diapers (They are now carrying AMP Duo Diapers), dining tables, etc... there is definitely something for everyone!

Christmas, shopping, and Overstock.com

Daisypath Christmas tickers

Can you believe Christmas is just around the corner? Well, neither can I. It seems to sneak up on me every year. Particularly last year, when I did all my Christmas shopping on the 23rd. Yikes! This year, I planned ahead and did all my shopping back in early October.

Recently though, I've been looking for a few other things that various family members have mentioned. J has some favorite old television shows he loves to watch. Walt Disney's Zorro is one of them, but they're pretty expensive and usually out-of-stock... I've thought of looking for them during Cyber Monday sales... and looked on Overstock.com, but while they don't have Zorro, they have some of the other ones J enjoys for less than I've seen elsewhere.

If I do decided to do some shopping during Cyber Monday and the Black Friday Sales, I'll look at digital cameras so I can get pictures without a time delay. Or should it be an armchair so I can blog and enter more giveaways??? in which case I'd need a laptop as well :-)

So, are you planning to shop on Cyber Monday and Black Friday?

If you go shopping at Overstock.com, feel free to use either of these discount codes: 121728, good for 10% off all Overstock.com products or 202234, free shipping promo code for electronics

FTC disclosure: All the ideas and opinions expressed are my own. No monetary compensation was received for doing this post, however, I was provided with a discount code.

Lulu's in the Fluff {Review}

Zippity Doo Dah! in a glass jar in the laundry room.

These diapers ran two wash/rinse cycles before I moved them from the washer to the tub.
and I used about 2 1/2 tablespoons of Lulu's in the glamour sleep.

First hour.
second hour...

third hour...

This picture is from the next diaper load we did. It was late and I thought I'd try agitating it with sticks to see if I could get more out. I used warm water, 2 tablespoons of Lulu's and agitated it for about 15 minutes... The picture above is the result. UGH!

I'm really pleased with the end result of the diapers. We were having repelling issues from the the diaper ointments we were using and after doing the glamour sleep on all the diapers, I've only had 2 out of 35 diapers repelling liquids. Today, it didn't take as many rinses for the diapers to smell 'clean' and I didn't notice that lingering ammonia smell after washing and rinsing.

I didn't see a big difference in the inserts or diapers looking whiter, but that's not a big deal to me. We also got a scented version and if you smell it in the bag, it is overpowering. But after using on the diapers, I didn't really notice any scent.

Before we tried Lulu's, I'd stripped the diapers and then boiled the diapers and neither did any thing to help with the repelling problem. So I'm happy with the end result and everyone else is happy that they don't have to clean up the leaks anymore. :)

Will I get more Lulu's in the Fluff? Absolutely! and I can't wait to try the different scents, too!

Disclosure: We purchased Lulu's in the Fluff to try and received no compensation for this review... It is however, our honest opinion of the product!

Fandangling Review & Giveaway {CLOSED}

I've always liked the baby mobiles that you see in the store. They always looked so fluffy and cute, but they wouldn't last as long as we would need them, and I couldn't attach it to little guy's changing table to keep his attention during diaper and ostomy cares. So, we never got one. I was talking to my mom one day about something that would hold his attention, so I could work quickly doing the cares that he doesn't like. Then I saw a review and giveaway over at Minnesota Mama's Must Haves for Fandangling and thought, 'you know, that would be so much better than a baby mobile!'... I had recently started Happily Southern, so imagine my surprise when Anne who developed Fandangling for her daughter Lia, emailed me, asking if I wanted to host a review and giveaway!

Here's what Anne says about Fandangling's story:

"I invented Fandangling quite by accident. It all started with our daughter Lia. When she was born we were seeking ways to keep her happy and interested in her room. When I put the first Fandangling on the fan in her room, her eyes lit up and the rest, as they say, is history.

I quickly realized that Fandangling was great for babies – my Mom friends all love it. As Lia grew older and more people came in contact with Fandangling, it became clear that Fandangling wasn't just for babies.

Fandangling is surely the next generation mobile, but older kids love it as well. Our friend's 7 year old daughter loves puppies. The Puparazzi kit was a favorite gift and the perfect accent to her room. Whether her fan is on or off, Fandangling livens up her room and is an eye catching part of the decor. Little boys love it too. Whether they like bugs or sports, adding a Fandangling to their room is fun and cool.

Fandangling has become a wonderful toy – it is for kids of all ages and even adults. Whether you are looking to soothe or just make an unmistakable statement in a room, Fandangling is the answer."

— Anne

We received the Safari kit for review. I let J pull the kit out of the packaging and the look on his face when he saw all the animals was priceless. He would go in the room for the next several days and just sit down to watch the fan!

Fandangling was incredibly easy to install. All I used was a ruler and pencil, although I didn't really need the ruler. The best part about Fandangling is that J isn't able to reach it and yank on it, so it lasts longer.

J loves his Fandangling and it makes my job taking care of his ostomy easier, because I can get him to watch the animals on the fan and sign what each animal is. You can also take the Fandangling off the fan at any time, since they are attached by velcro. J will ask sometimes if I will take one of the animals off for him and he will walk around showing everyone what he has with a big smile on his face.

Fandangling adds a nice finishing touch to any nursery or child's room and would also make a great gift for a new mom, as well. There are many Fandangling kits to choose from and you can also create your own kit, making your fan a fun place to watch.

BUY IT: If you don't want to wait, you can buy your own Fandangling for $19.95.

SkinMD Natural Shielding Lotion Review & Giveaway - CLOSED

I may live in Georiga, where it's said to be humid. But it's humid only in the summer, and during the winter, my hands are often chapped and very dry. I've never really found anything that helped them and actually lasted longer than a couple of hours. Recently, I was asked if I would do a review and host a giveaway for SkinMD Natural Shielding Lotion. I've been able to try the SkinMD lotion for a couple of weeks now and I am really impressed with it. When I first put the lotion on, my hands didn't sting! My hands actually felt soft after I put the lotion on and didn't feel greasy. I often hesitate to use lotions, because I will end up putting on the lotion just before I wash dishes or scrub something in water, then my hands start getting slimy and I really dislike that, so I tend to avoid lotion. I had just put on some lotion after washing my hands and then realized that I needed to scrub potatoes for dinner. I noticed that my hands weren't slimy or greasy while running the water and only if I rubbed my hands together real hard under the running water could I actually feel the lotion.
I don't handle fragrances real well and I was doubly impressed that the SkinMD Natural Shielding Lotion didn't have a fragrance!

Here is some more information on SkinMD Natural Shielding Lotion:

In order for the skin to heal and return to its healthy condition you have to seal in the moisture and oils that are below the outer layer of skin and protect it from the irritants in the environment. A shielding lotion is based on a new technology that blends moisturizers with a light silicone material that is like a liquid shield that bonds with the surface of your skin.

Replacing this protective shield helps heal the skin. It keeps the moisture in and the irritants out. With a conventional lotion you have to reapply it regularly to get the benefit. It will come off when you rub your hands or wash them, but a shielding lotion bonds with the skin and lasts for at least four hours. It protects your skin and keeps your own moisture in. Shielding lotions are the ultimate natural skin care products.

When the protective layer on your skin has been stripped away, by harsh weather conditions in summer or winter, chemicals or soaps, it reduces the capacity of the skin to moisturize itself and your skin dries out - one of the major contributing factors to skin showing signs of age. Natural skin care with a shielding lotion holds in the natural moisture, keeping your skin supple and smooth.
