Yesterday...

We ran out of cloth diapers at the ER last night... and bummas, too! J's g-tube had fallen out, unknown to us on the way home from his appointment and he also started having diarrhea while at the ER. Which in turn gave him a raw, bleeding bum.

His nurse got us some pampers to use since that was what they had available and a 4oz. tube of Calmoseptine. On the way home, we decided that it would be much better to pick up a pack of disposables to use till his rash cleared since we were changing diapers so frequently. Almost all of the Pamper diapers that Walmart had were the dry max, so we got Huggies Pure & Natural with 100% cotton and fragrance free. This morning, we've used almost 2 - 4oz tubes of Calmoseptine and another skin protector and gone through 11 diapers since 10 last night.

We are home... yay! and while I'd have rather not had to use disposables and J doesn't want to wear them, his rash is clearing up with all the pastes we're using. And, the diarrhea and cramping he was having has pretty much disappeared. He is still wearing disposables and will continue to until his rash is all cleared up because his stool was/is very acidic. A friend who had gone with us, was very surprised, almost shocked that the rash had appeared so quickly, because J's bottom had looked great at 3pm when we changed his diaper and by 9pm, it was raw and bleeding. That's how fast it changed!

I'm so glad that we got home (at 3am this morning), but I confess that the 300+ emails in the inbox fazed me a bit! I think I've added everyone's extra entries, but if you noticed yours aren't added, please let me know so I can check!

Sorry to hear about the rash. No fun!

When traveling (no access to laundry facilities) I love to use the Huggies 100% organic cotton. They don't irritate my son's skin... I refuse to use any others on him. Not as good as cloth, but sometimes I don't have much of a choice.
