Fluffdom Express: Thirsties Duo Diaper {CLOSED}

Before J’s surgery we bought some Thirsties Fab Fitteds from Mothering Grace. While they were great and are awesome fitted diapers, I didn’t like the laundry tabs since they never held for me. But I’d heard that Thirsties was working on some Duo diapers and they were fixing the laundry tabs. We received a Thirsties Duo Diaper to review and it reminds me in some ways of our AppleCheeks diapers.

When you use the
duo diaper, you don’t have to remove the insert before washing which when you’re on the road or in a hospital is wonderful. The duo diaper can also double as a AI2 with the Thirsties inserts. The wings for the duo diaper, however, aren’t very large, so if you have a special needs child with, say, an ileostomy or colostomy right around the waistline, this wouldn’t be a good diaper to go with. The leg gussets for the duo diaper do hold everything in, J made sure to test that out the first time I put it on him.

Thirsties also has sizing on their site for their diapers which I really appreciate. A size chart that doesn’t just have the age and weight range for a diaper is such a blessing!

Thirsties is also working on making their Fab Fitted diaper into a duo diaper as well. I’m looking forward to seeing what it looks like after its released. I’m hoping that Thirsties will eventually, sooner rather than later, make a size 3 duo and fitted diaper that will fit children from 40 - 60 lbs. Their diaper style, aplix tabs and the fact that the insert agitates out makes it a great diaper to use in the hospital, especially for an abdominal surgery.

Thirsties also has a catalog about Thirsties diapers and accessories. We got one along with the diaper and it’s well put together with great information for someone who is new to cloth diapers. It includes details on how to wash your cloth diapers as well!

Buy it: Mothering Grace carries Thirsties Duo Diapers for $17.50 each in several different colors and some prints.

WIN IT: Thirsties, Inc. has very generously offered one (1) reader their own Duo Diaper in size and choice of color!
